Job summary

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring an Industrial Mechanic - Millwright for an upcoming assignment in Southwest Ontario. You will perform installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of on-site electrical machinery and equipment, with 10–12 hour shifts and 4–6 days per week when assigned.

The role offers pay at $65.00 per hour before overtime, a $30 per day meal allowance when lodging is required, paid travel up to 4 hours, and hotel accommodations when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Hold a valid 433A certificate of qualification – Industrial Mechanic.
• Min 1 year millwright experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment.
• Read mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout and confined space requirements.
• Install and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, piping, and compressed air systems.
• Use hand and power tools for cutting, threading, bending, welding, grinding.
• Rig, install, align, level, and adjust machinery and equipment as required.
• Identify mechanical issues and perform corrective repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain maintenance records and complete scheduled work orders.
• Inspect equipment and recommend repairs or adjustments to maintain performance.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Perform other maintenance duties and projects as assigned.
