Job summary

AFIMAC Canada is seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic - Millwright for an upcoming assignment in Southwest Ontario. You will install, maintain and troubleshoot on-site electrical machinery and equipment, working 10–12 hour shifts for 4–6 days per week when on project.

The role pays $65.00 per hour before overtime plus a $30 per day meal allowance (when lodging is required) and travel and lodging support. AFIMAC emphasizes safety, quality and documented maintenance procedures.

Qualifications

• Hold a Grade 12 or equivalent credential.
• Possess 433A certificate of qualification for Industrial Mechanic.
• Minimum 1 year of millwright experience in manufacturing.
• Familiar with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Able to read mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Fluent English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and equipment specifications.
• Follow safety, quality, environmental, and production procedures including lockout/tagout.
• Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, piping, tubing, hose assemblies, and compressed air systems.
• Use hand and power tools for cutting, threading, bending, fastening, welding, grinding, and other mechanical work.
• Rig, install, align, level, and adjust machinery and equipment as required.
• Identify mechanical issues, perform corrective repairs, and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete scheduled work orders.
• Inspect equipment and recommend repairs or adjustments for optimal performance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
• Hold a valid 433A certificate of qualification – Industrial Mechanic
• Min 1 year millwright experience in a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical and communication skills
• Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
