Job summary

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring an Industrial Mechanic - Millwright for an upcoming assignment in Southwest Ontario. The role focuses on installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of on-site electrical machinery and equipment.

The position involves 10–12 hour shifts, 4–6 days per week when on project, with competitive hourly pay and allowances such as meal and lodging support where needed. AFIMAC emphasizes safety and reliability across all tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Hold a valid 433A certificate of qualification – Industrial Mechanic.
• Min 1 year millwright experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical and communication skills.
• Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and equipment specifications.
• Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and production procedures, including lockout/tagout and confined space requirements.
• Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, piping, tubing, hose assemblies, and compressed air systems.
• Use hand and power tools for cutting, threading, bending, fastening, welding, grinding, and other mechanical work.
• Rig, install, align, level, and adjust machinery and equipment as required.
• Identify mechanical issues, perform corrective repairs, and minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete scheduled work orders.
• Inspect equipment and recommend repairs or adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform other maintenance duties and projects as assigned.

• $65.00 per hour before overtime
• $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
• Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
• Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)
