Job summary

AFIMAC Canada is seeking an Industrial Mechanic - Millwright for upcoming assignments in Southwest Ontario. The role involves installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of on-site electrical machinery and equipment, reading drawings, and following safety procedures.

You will work 10–12 hour shifts, 4–6 days per week when assigned, with travel and lodging provisions as needed. A valid 433A certificate and millwright experience are required; CMMS familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Hold a valid 433A certificate of qualification – Industrial Mechanic.
• Min 1 year millwright experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Fluent command of the English language (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and equipment specifications.
• Follow safety, quality, environmental, and production procedures, including lockout/tagout and confined space requirements.
• Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, piping, tubing, hose assemblies, and compressed air systems.
• Use hand and power tools for cutting, threading, bending, fastening, welding, grinding, and other mechanical work.
• Rig, install, align, level, and adjust machinery and equipment as required.
• Identify mechanical issues, perform corrective repairs, and minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete scheduled work orders.
• Inspect equipment and recommend repairs or adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform other maintenance duties and projects as assigned.

• $65.00 per hour before overtime
• $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
• Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
