  • Interpret mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, installation plans, and technical manuals to ensure accurate machinery placement and assembly.
  • Position heavy machinery using appropriate lifting equipment, rigging tools, hoists, jacks, and other approved material-handling devices.
  • Perform machine alignment, levelling, balancing, and precision fitting to ensure proper equipment operation.
  • Assist with machinery upgrades, production-line modifications, equipment replacement, and industrial expansion projects.
  • Verify that installed equipment meets operational requirements and applicable safety standards.
Maintenance and Repair
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on industrial machinery to identify wear, damage, leaks, vibration, overheating, and other potential problems.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and perform corrective repairs to restore equipment functionality.
  • Repair or replace defective bearings, shafts, couplings, gears, belts, chains, seals, valves, and other mechanical components.
  • Maintain and service pumps, motors, conveyors, compressors, gearboxes, and related mechanical systems.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools to assess equipment condition and verify repair accuracy.
  • Maintain maintenance records, document completed repairs, and report recurring equipment issues to the appropriate supervisor.
Troubleshooting and Performance Improvement
  • Investigate equipment breakdowns and identify the root causes of mechanical failures.
  • Collaborate with electrical technicians, engineers, production operators, and other maintenance professionals to resolve equipment problems.
  • Recommend practical improvements to increase machinery reliability, reduce downtime, and improve production efficiency.
  • Support equipment testing, trial runs, and performance assessments following installation or repair.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance procedures, equipment longevity, and operational effectiveness.
Workplace Safety and Compliance
  • Follow established health and safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine isolation, and verification of safe working conditions.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and approved tools and lifting equipment appropriately.
  • Follow safe rigging, lifting, handling, and installation procedures when working with heavy machinery.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and comply with housekeeping requirements.
  • Report equipment hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses promptly.
  • Follow applicable workplace regulations, equipment standards, environmental procedures, and company policies.
Documentation and Team Collaboration
  • Complete maintenance reports, inspection checklists, work orders, and equipment service records accurately.
  • Communicate machinery conditions, repair progress, and maintenance requirements to supervisors and relevant team members.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with production teams to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Assist with spare-parts identification, inventory monitoring, and the preparation of maintenance materials.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, technical training, and continuous improvement activities.
