Job summary

The Mosaic Company is hiring a Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic for our Colonsay, Saskatchewan site. You will service plant and mining equipment, work safely, diagnose issues, and perform repairs and fabrication as needed. You may operate both on surface and underground, with occasional weekend shifts.

A valid Red Seal Certificate is required, along with tool safety knowledge and welding skills. Pre- employment checks apply and you must be authorized to work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic Red Seal Certificate required.
• Full knowledge of safe use and care of power and hand tools.
• Proficient in cutting and welding practices.
• Ability to assess mechanical condition of machines and take action.
• Authorized to work in Canada; pre-employment checks apply.

Responsibilities

• Report to maintenance supervisor; work as part of a team to service plant and underground mining equipment.
• Work safely in an industrial environment and follow procedures and policies.
• Inspect, diagnose, adjust, repair, fabricate, modify and install plant or mining equipment.
• Plan, layout and use trade skills for assigned work.
• Work in field, shop or underground; laser alignment proficiency expected.

Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic

Where will you work?

Onsite – Colonsay, Saskatchewan (Colonsay is located approximately 42 miles from City of Saskatoon, with an average driving time of about 45 minutes).

Compensation & Schedule

• Shift Schedule - 5/5/4 Continuous
• Hourly: - $63.42, As per CBA As a Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic at our Colonsay, SK location.

What you’ll do?

• Reporting to the maintenance supervisor you will work as part of a team and be responsible for servicing the plant equipment and underground mining equipment.
• Work safely in an industrial environment and able to follow the procedures and policies that are in place.
• Inspect, diagnose, adjust, repair, fabricate, modify, and install plant equipment and or mining related equipment.
• Plan, layout and use trade skills for assigned work.
• Be able to work in the field, shop or underground.
• Proficient in laser alignment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to communicate and report any deficiencies or corrections noticed during routine maintenance or inspections either verbally or in writing.
• Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training.
• Play a critical role not only ensuring your own safety, but also the safety of others.
• The position will require working on surface or underground as assigned.
• You may also be required to work a shift rotation requiring weekend work.

What you’ll need?

• A recognized, valid, Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic's Red Seal Certificate.
• Full knowledge of the safe utilization and care of power and hand tools.
• Full knowledge of cutting and welding practices.
• The ability to discern the state of mechanical condition of machines and equipment and take appropriate action.
• Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks including criminal, drug and alcohol testing.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada.
