Job summary

West Fraser’s Manning Lumber location seeks an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright or a 3rd/4th Year Millwright Apprentice to maintain pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems and related equipment in a manufacturing setting. You will work with other trades, perform preventative maintenance and use Maximo/CMMS systems.

Ideal candidates hold a Journeyperson Millwright certification or are in the 4th year of an apprenticeship.

Qualifications

Journeyperson Millwright certification or 4th-year apprentice status.
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work with other trades and employees.
Commitment to working safely and creating a safe workplace.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexible schedule to work days, nights and/or weekends shifts.

Responsibilities

Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, mechanical systems, rollers, bearings, and hydraulics.
Cost management.
Use of Maximo and CMMS programs.
Learn PDM programs and reliability training.
Undertake preventative maintenance for equipment.
Read blueprints, diagrams and schematics to repair equipment.
Operate hoisting devices to position machinery during setup and repair.
Work in manlifts with fall protection equipment.
Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders.
Verify and document repairs.
