Job summary

Zekelman Industries is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright for our Harrow, Ontario site. This on-site role covers mechanical and hydraulic maintenance, troubleshooting, welding and fabrication, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements include a 433A license, 5+ years in industrial maintenance, and relevant trades or welding certifications. Strong safety and teamwork mindset is essential for this rotating shift position.

Qualifications

• Licensed 433A Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
• Minimum five years in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Trade/technical diploma in Welding, Blueprint Reading, Hydraulics, Mechanical Maintenance or related field preferred.
• Certified welder (Plate, 3G, or related certifications) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety practices per OSHA, policies and standards.
• Perform mechanical and hydraulic maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair and minimize downtime of drives and production equipment.
• Weld, cut, and fabricate components for repairs and installations.
• Execute preventive/predictive maintenance to improve reliability.
• Prepare maintenance reports and manage work orders in SAP/CMMS.

Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright

Location: Harrow, Ontario

Shift: Rotating shifts, including weekends and overtime

Pay: $41.25/hour + maintenance incentive

Sign-on Bonus: New hires will receive a one-time bonus of $10,000.00 after completing probationary period.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow and promote safe work practices in accordance with OSHA, company policies, and regulatory standards (e.g., Lockout/Tagout and Arc Flash procedures).
• Perform mechanical and hydraulic maintenance on plant equipment and systems, including power systems, drives, and production machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical drives and manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
• Weld, cut, and fabricate components required for equipment repairs and installations.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Prepare detailed maintenance reports and maintain accurate work orders within SAP or other maintenance management systems.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and other team members to support plant production and maintenance needs.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance reliability and plant performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations.
• Maintain regular, full-time onsite attendance.

Education / Experience

• Licensed Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (433A) required.
• Minimum of five years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Trade or technical school diploma in Welding, Blueprint Reading, Hydraulics, Mechanical Maintenance, or related field preferred.
• Certified welder (Plate, 3G, or related certifications) preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Competencies

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills related to industrial equipment maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and production equipment issues.
• Computer literacy and experience with SAP or other CMMS systems preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting safe work practices in accordance with regulatory agencies and company policy.
• Ability to work in various plant environments, including elevated areas.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy parts and tools as required.
• Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods while performing maintenance tasks.
• Ability to work at elevated heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
• Ability to perform work in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
