Job summary

Flynn Group of Companies is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the Vancouver Branch. Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in related field (Millwright, HD mechanic, mechanic, small engines).
• Physically able to lift up to 22 kg.
• Class 5 driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding experience is an asset.
• Red seal certification is an asset.
• Electrical troubleshooting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment (saws, shears, brake press, vacuum lifters, CNC equipment, cranes, engines).
• Assist with installation of new equipment, rebuilds, system modifications and upgrades.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, check fluid levels and replace filters.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines and safety systems running smoothly.
• Carry out general facility repairs (plumbing, electrical, doors, faucets, appliances).
• Perform maintenance in workshop and at two facilities plus on-site.
• Maintain records of work performed, labor hours and materials used.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment and compliance with WorkSafe BC and CSA standards.

Flynn Group of Companiesis seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join its team at the Vancouver Branch. (Office Location - 19175 22nd Avenue, Surrey BC V3Z 3S6).This position reports to the Facilities Operations Manager and requires an independent and reliable person to perform the responsibilities outlined below.

• Troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment. Saws, Shears, brake press, vacuum lifters, CNC equipment, cranes, engines, Pneumatic systems, forklifts, fleet vehicles, small engines.
• Assist with installation of new equipment, rebuilds, system modifications and upgrades.
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and all safety systems are operational at all times.
• Perform general facility repairs such as minor plumbing and electrical work, repair of doors, faucets, appliances.
• Preform repairs in the maintenance shop, 2 facilities as well as on site.
• Maintain records of work performed, repairs, labor hours and materials consumed.
• Initiate corrective and preventive solutions through proper channels.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure that work practices are compliant with WorkSafe BC and CSA safety standards.
• Minimum 1 year experience in related field. I.e., Millwright, HD mechanic, mechanic, small engines etc.
• Mechanical knowledge, which includes knowledge of tools and materials.
• Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 22 kg.
• Hardworking and reliable team player.
• Able to learn quickly and work efficiently.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required through a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Class 5 driver’s license
• Welding experience considered an asset.
