Job summary

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking an Industrial Mechanic for the Cape Breton Regional Hospital facility. The role involves maintaining and repairing mechanical systems across the plant, including HVAC, boiler, and water systems, while ensuring compliance with codes and infection prevention standards.

You will report to the Maintenance & Operations team, travel within the zone as needed, and contribute to installation and commissioning of new systems.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson industrial mechanic certification required.
• Experience with mechanical systems in maintenance or installation in a similar setting.
• Familiar with computerized maintenance management systems.
• Ability to develop solutions from technical knowledge and principles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical systems in the hospital plant.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety, building, and infection prevention codes.
• Assist in installation and maintenance of new mechanical systems.
