Job summary

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Carpenter for the Central Zone at QEII, Victoria Building. The role involves repairs and alterations to building structures, with responsibilities including infection prevention and small renovations, and travel between sites as required.

The ideal candidate holds a Journeyperson Certificate in Carpentry (Red Seal) or equivalent, a Grade 12 or higher, and can lift 40 lbs+. Permanent full-time, 75 hours bi-weekly, with NSGEU support union position and a competitive

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification in Carpentry or Red Seal endorsement.
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Ability to lift over 40 lbs (18 kg).
• Travel between sites may be required; reliable transportation required.
• Proof of certification required prior to interview.

Responsibilities

• Complete repairs and alterations to building structures (walls, ceilings, doors, windows, millwork, abatement, flooring).
• Perform small in-house renovations and additions, including infection prevention hoarding.
• Travel within the zone as needed.
