Permacon is seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic for our Metcalfe facility in southern Ottawa. The role requires day shifts during weeks or weekends as needed, with a focus on maintaining and improving plant equipment and processes.

Ideal candidates have a diploma in industrial mechanics or electromechanics, 3+ years in an industrial setting, and strong hydraulic, pneumatic, machining, and welding skills. Competitive benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Electric competency required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability and optimal performance of machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and program mechanical components, and lead preventive maintenance within the area.
• Maintain a self-motivated and hands-on approach to resolving equipment issues.
• Manage spare parts inventory and support planning during mechanical shutdowns.
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Promote high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.
• Contribute to continuous improvement to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.

Job Summary

We are currently looking for an Industrial Mechanic for at our Metcalfe facility. The candidate must be available to work on dayshift during week or weekend, when required.

Our Metcalfe plant is in southern Ottawa, at 6860 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON K0A 2P0.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability and optimal performance of machinery, equipment, and systems
• Proactively troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and program mechanical components, while leading preventive maintenance activities within the assigned area of responsibility
• Maintain a self-motivated and hands-on approach to identifying and resolving equipment issues
• Manage spare parts inventory and support the planning and lead mechanical shutdowns
• Prepare reports, maintain accurate maintenance records, and ensure proper documentation
• Promote and maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety
