Job summary

Permacon, a leading North American manufacturer and division of Oldcastle Architectural, is seeking an Industrial Mechanic for our Metcalfe facility in Ottawa, ON. The candidate must be available to work dayshift during the week or on weekends when required.

Our Metcalfe plant is located at 6860 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON K0A 2P0. The role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, with a strong emphasis on safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma in industrial mechanics or electromechanics required.
• Electric competency required.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in an industrial environment.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
• Machining experience.
• Know how to arc/tig weld.
• Ability to interpret mechanical parts.
• Demonstrated experience with hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability and optimal performance of machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and program mechanical components; lead preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a hands-on approach to identifying and resolving equipment issues.
• Manage spare parts inventory and support mechanical shutdown planning.
• Prepare reports, maintain maintenance records, and ensure documentation.
• Promote high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for equipment reliability and safety.

Job Summary

We are currently looking for an Industrial Mechanic for at our Metcalfe facility. The candidate must be available to work on dayshift during week or weekend, when required.

Our Metcalfe plant is in southern Ottawa, at 6860 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON K0A 2P0.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability and optimal performance of machinery, equipment, and systems;
• Proactively troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and program mechanical components, while leading preventive maintenance activities within the assigned area of responsibility;
• Maintain a self-motivated and hands-on approach to identifying and resolving equipment issues;
• Manage spare parts inventory and support the planning and lead mechanical shutdowns;
• Prepare reports, maintain accurate maintenance records, and ensure proper documentation;
• Promote and maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety;
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and safety performance.
