Job summary

Permacon is seeking a Machine Operator for its Metcalfe facility in Ontario. The candidate must be available for rotating days, nights, or weekends, and to work at the Ottawa suburb site at 6860 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON K0A 2P0.

You will operate Rekers machines on the dry side, handle strapping/wrapping equipment, run setup changes, adjust start-up procedures, and contribute to quality reports and product curing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Wielding, mechanic, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years in manufacturing operating equipment.
• Team oriented with mechanical aptitude, initiative, responsibility and precision.
• Must pass a mechanical aptitude test.

Responsibilities

• Operate Rekers machine (dry side) and ensure proper functioning.
• Operate strapping and wrapping machines and ensure proper function.
• Operate equipment related to the machine and perform adjustments.
• Follow quality manual; complete quality and production reports; oversee curing.
• Perform set-up changes and start‑up adjustments.
• Program equipment and save product recipes for changeovers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and participate in maintenance work.
• Assist in machine cleaning and Rekers department housekeeping.
• Communicate abnormalities or issues to the team; work as a team.
• Wear required PPE and maintain safe working practices.

Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Machine Operator for at our Metcalfe facility. The candidate must be available to work in both rotating dayshift/nightshift or weekend, when required.

Our Metcalfe plant is in southern Ottawa, at 6860 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON K0A 2P0.

Job Responsibilities

• Operates Rekers machine (dry side) and ensure its good functioning
• Operate the strapping and wrapping machines and ensure its good functioning
• Operate all the equipment related to the machine
• Follow quality manual. Complete quality and production reports. Look after the curing of the products to ensure good curing of products
• Perform set-up changes
• Perform operations and necessary adjustments for machine start up
• Programs equipment in accordance with the product requested. Make and save product recipes to optimize product change over
• Perform preventive maintenance of equipment
• Participate in maintenance work
• Participate in machine clean-up. Clean up tasks as required, like cleaning Press / Mixer
• Participate in the Rekers department housekeeping. Keep his work area and toolbox clean
• Communicate to competent people any abnormalities or faulty situations regarding the product, quality, machine, equipment, workplace or other
• Work as a team
• Wear safety personal protective equipment as required for this position and work safely

Job Requirements

• High school diploma
