Job summary

Permacon, a leading North American manufacturer of concrete products, is seeking an Industrial Mechanic for our Metcalfe facility in southern Ottawa. The candidate must be available to work dayshift during the week or on weekends when required.

Responsibilities include ensuring machine reliability, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical components, performing preventive maintenance, managing spare parts, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Diploma in industrial mechanics or electromechanics.
• Electric competency is required.
• Minimum three years in an industrial environment.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
• Machining experience and ability to arc/tig weld.
• Ability to interpret mechanical parts and use hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability and optimal performance of machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and program mechanical components; lead preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a hands-on approach to identifying and resolving equipment issues.
• Manage spare parts inventory and support mechanical shutdowns planning.
• Prepare reports, maintain records, and ensure proper documentation.
• Promote housekeeping and workplace safety; contribute to continuous improvement.

Job Summary

We are currently looking for an Industrial Mechanic for at our Metcalfe facility.The candidate must be available to work on both dayshift during week or weekend, when required.

Our Metcalfe plant is in southern Ottawa, at 6860 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON K0A 2P0.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure the reliability and optimal performance of machinery, equipment, and systems;
• Proactively troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and program mechanical components, while leading preventive maintenance activities within the assigned area of responsibility;
• Maintain a self-motivated and hands-on approach to identifying and resolving equipment issues;
• Manage spare parts inventory and support the planning and lead mechanical shutdowns;
• Prepare reports, maintain accurate maintenance records, and ensure proper documentation;
• Promote and maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety;
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and safety performance.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

• Diploma in industrial mechanics or electromechanics;
• Electric competency;
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in an industrial environment;
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience;

Job compensation/Benefits:

• An hourly rate from 32.33 $ to 36.53 $, based on diploma, qualifications and relevant experience;
