Job summary

Ford of Canada is seeking an Industrial Millwright Mechanic to support Windsor operations with high uptime and reliable equipment performance. The IMM will apply mechanical knowledge to improve manufacturing processes, diagnose issues quickly, and lead improvement projects.

Red Seal is an asset; apprenticeship credentials are required; on-site work in Windsor, Ontario will be rotating shifts. Candidates must have a Certificate of Apprenticeship (C of A) and Certificate of Qualifications (C of Q)

Qualifications

  • Completed apprenticeship and holds C of A and C of Q (433A).
  • Red Seal certification is an asset.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada; no sponsorship for work permits.

YOUR IMPACT
  • Support the manufacturing process through efficient machine maintenance and maximization of machine uptime
  • Apply mechanical principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity
  • Effectivelytroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures in a timely manner
  • Identify throughput constraints and drive root cause improvements
  • Lead teams and projects aimed at improving productivity, efficiency, and safety
Basic Qualifications
  • Has satisfactorily completed an apprenticeship training course in the trade concerned and has obtained a Certificate of Apprenticeship (C of A) and Certificate of Qualifications (C of Q) (433A).
Preferred Qualifications
  • “Red Seal” certification is an asset.
  • Three (3) years working experience as an IMM within a high-speed, flexible manufacturing environment with prior completion of arecognized Apprenticeship Program under the Province of Ontario or equivalent.
  • Prior working experience with Computerized Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines with knowledge and applied experience in machine tool component position geometry and process integration.
  • Working knowledge and experience with precision bearings, setup gauging tools, tool mounting systems, andlubricant systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures.
  • Deep understanding along with a working knowledge and experience of automation machinery specifications (proficient with machining, repairing, and/or rebuilding working details and machine components using lathes, mills, grinders, etc.)
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehension of technical drawings and schematics for determination of machining and assembly equipment and tooling parameters.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge in the use of measuring instruments to verify dimensional characteristics.
  • Preferable candidates should be capable of effectively performing their duties with minimal Supervision and be capable of working independently.
  • Applicants must be willing to upgrade certain skills if required.
  • Must be willing and able to perform work on a rotating three-shift basis with extended hours and work weeks as may be required.
