Job summary

Bombardier in Dorval, QC, seeks an Industrial Engineer to optimize manufacturing operations. You will define strategies, balance stations, analyze material flows, and set work instructions across assembly lines.

Requirements include a DEC or bachelor’s in industrial engineering or related field, plus experience in manufacturing. Proficiency in VSM, flow/capacity analysis and MS Project is expected; bilingual French/English is valued.

Qualifications

  • College diploma (DEC) or bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, operations management, or equivalent field.
  • Relevant manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in industrial engineering concepts and tools (VSM, flow analysis, capacity analysis, etc.).
  • Ability to manage priorities and overcome setbacks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in French and English; MS Office proficiency including MS Project.

Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and continuously improve industrial engineering strategies to optimize operational performance.
  • Design and maintain precedence diagrams for assembly stations.
  • Balance workstations according to production rate variations and establish work instructions/standards.
  • Configure workstations and analyze material flows to adapt to production changes.
  • Determine workforce requirements by trade and plan allocation by shift.
  • Develop and monitor labor hour budgets based on aircraft configurations and explain variances.
  • Define, monitor, and improve KPIs to assess operational efficiency.
  • Lead Kaizen, 5S, and factory layout projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

What are your contributions to the team?

Define, implement, and continuously improve industrial engineering strategies to optimize operational performance;

Design and maintain precedence diagrams for assembly stations;

Balance workstations according to production rate variations and establish work instructions/standards;

Configure workstations and analyze material flows to efficiently adapt to changes in production rates;

Determine workforce requirements by trade and plan their allocation by shift;

Develop and monitor labor hour budgets based on aircraft configurations, while analyzing and explaining variances;

Define, monitor, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency;

Initiate, propose, and lead projects, including facilitating Kaizen workshops, 5S initiatives, factory layout improvements, etc.;

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex issues and deploy sustainable solutions;

Prepare and deliver presentations to management, ensuring clear and structured communication of issues and results.

How to thrive in this role?

You hold a college diploma (DEC) or a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, operations management, or an equivalent field;

You have relevant experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment;

You are proficient in industrial engineering concepts and tools (VSM, flow analysis, capacity analysis, etc.);

You are able to manage priorities effectively and overcome setbacks;

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills (in both French and English);

You are recognized for a high level of initiative, autonomy, and innovative thinking;

You are proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Project.
