Job summary

UniFirst Canada is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team in Taber, Alberta. You will perform repairs and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment, including boilers, washers, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems, following blueprints and safety procedures.

On-the-job training is provided to support career growth in a family-oriented culture. You will use hand tools, read schematics, and operate a CMMS, with duties spanning daily checks, safety protocols, and occasional welding.

Qualifications

• High school and/or GED is required.
• Minimum of 6 months’ work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment is required.
• Able to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools and measurement devices to perform maintenance.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Follow blueprints and manuals for repairs and adjustments.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues using testing instruments.
• Record and adjust chemical and wastewater testing for boiler systems.
• Perform safety checks on boilers and address any issues.
• Adhere to Lockout/Tagout and Confined Space procedures.
• Record meter readings and take corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct regular location/system safety checks and address concerns.
• Inspect and lubricate equipment components per procedures.
• Use CMMS to document repairs and maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with repairs as needed.
