Job summary

UniFirst Canada is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech II to join our UniFirst team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components.

You will participate in a Monday–Friday work week with on-the-job training and opportunities for career growth within a rapidly expanding organization. This role requires reading blueprints, performing boiler and safety checks, and using CMMS for records.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience with industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and maintenance manuals in English.
  • Pass UniFirst maintenance knowledge assessment for employment.
  • Experience with safety programs and using hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment problems using observations and testing tools.
  • Assist maintenance team with emergency and non-emergency repairs.
  • Repair PLCs and associated control systems per schematics.
  • Follow manuals, specs, and manufacturer instructions.
  • Test boiler chemical and wastewater pretreatment systems and log results.
  • Perform safety checks on boilers and carry out repairs as needed.
  • Inspect and maintain motors, belts, and lubrications per procedures.
  • Weld to support repairs on facilities and equipment.
  • Inspect rotating parts and replace worn components as required.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System for records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
