Job Title: Industrial Engineer

Industrial Engineer role focuses on supporting nuclear fabrication operations across facilities in the Cambridge and Brantford areas. You will play a key role in optimizing production processes, improving facility layouts, and enhancing overall system health and efficiency. The position combines manufacturing engineering expertise, data-driven analysis, and hands‑on involvement with fabrication equipment and facility modifications to ensure high levels of productivity and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with equipment vendors and service providers to plan and execute preventative and corrective maintenance programs for critical fabrication and facility systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis on production performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve operational reliability, throughput, and output quality.
  • Monitor the health of manufacturing systems and facilities, identifying opportunities to modify and upgrade equipment, utilities, and layouts to support evolving fabrication requirements.
  • Lead and support facility modifications, including moving equipment, adding new production lines, and implementing changes to gas lines, power lines, and other utilities.
  • Review and interpret production and efficiency data to fine‑tune processes, reduce bottlenecks, and optimize production times across multiple fabrication projects.
  • Make informed, data‑driven decisions on process and facility changes rather than deferring critical decisions to others, ensuring timely and effective implementation of improvements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure that process improvements and facility changes are practical, safe, and aligned with production goals.
  • Support nuclear fabrication projects by applying specialized industrial and manufacturing engineering practices tailored to the unique requirements of this environment.

  • Experience monitoring system health in complex manufacturing environments and recommending upgrades or modifications.
  • Exposure to multi‑site manufacturing operations, with the ability to maintain a broad outlook on system needs across different facilities.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with comfort working extensively with production and efficiency data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to plan and execute maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Comfort working in specialized and highly regulated environments such as nuclear‑related fabrication facilities.
