Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is seeking an Energy Management Specialist to drive energy conservation at the Lagimodiere plant in Winnipeg. The role focuses on implementing efficiency initiatives, monitoring consumption, and coordinating with Efficiency Manitoba and internal teams.

You will lead energy audits, develop business cases, and promote a culture of sustainability. The position reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager and collaborates with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Must have professional engineering background (P.Eng. or CET) and relevant energy management experience.
• Experience in energy-efficient design of industrial systems and processes.
• Strong financial analysis and project management capabilities.
• Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead energy management programs to improve facility energy efficiency.
• Monitor energy consumption and identify anomalies and savings opportunities.
• Prepare business cases and justify capital expenditures for energy projects.
• Oversee utility metering systems and dashboards for ongoing monitoring.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for installations and commissioning.
• Prepare incentive program applications and manage energy audits and progress reporting.
