Gerdau is seeking an experienced Electrician – IMT to install, troubleshoot, repair, and service complex equipment in our Canada operations. You will work with electrical and electronic controls, read schematics, and support maintenance and production teams. This role requires an Ontario certificate and strong PLC/high voltage knowledge.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification required (442A/309A) as recognized by Ontario College of Trades.
• Knowledge of AC/DC motor and drive theory; PLC troubleshooting.
• High voltage power systems experience and NFPA 70E awareness.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic controls and systems.
• Perform rounds to identify abnormalities and ensure proper operation.
• Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls, PLCs, and electrical drives.
• Inspect and maintain shop machinery, HVAC systems, PLC networks, and cranes.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used.
• Interpret schematics and blueprints at an intermediate level.
• Provide technical assistance to maintenance and production staff.
• Operate mobile equipment and ensure safety rules are followed.
