Job summary

Savage in Sydney, Nova Scotia is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join our Industrial operations team. You will maintain and repair conveyor systems and electrical components for the coal handling facility, working with marine vessels and Savage crew to ensure nonstop offloading and safe operations.

This role requires certified electrical trade status, 2–3 years of experience, and the ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and outdoor weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Certified Electrician / Mill Right / Journeyman / Apprentice.
• Red Seal preferred, not required.
• 2-3 years of experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of the operation of industrial mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Mooring and unmooring vessels during coal discharge.
• Compliance with Marine Facility security requirements.
• Operate conveyor systems following safety practices.
• Work individually and with the Savage team.
• Perform daily safety inspections of equipment and facilities.
• Maintenance of electrical components in the coal handling system.
• Assist in Locomotive inspections at the Rail Center site.
