Job summary
IMT Group is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician (442A) in Port Colborne, Ontario. The role focuses on installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving electrical and automation systems across heavy industrial operations.
Ideal candidates will hold a 442A certificate with 3–5 years of maintenance experience, strong diagnostic abilities, and a commitment to safety and productivity. Union full-time position with excellent benefits is offered.
Qualifications
- Ontario Industrial Electrician (442A) certificate required.
- 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and electrical control system knowledge.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience with motors, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, and automation.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment.
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, panels, transformers, and distribution equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance; respond to breakdowns promptly.
- Support PLC-controlled automation and modernization projects.
- Mentor apprentices and ensure safe work practices.
