Job summary

KPIC Maintenance Services Inc., part of the FWS Group of Companies, is seeking an Industrial Electrician in the Regina area. The role focuses on safe, timely electrical work, maintenance, and small project retrofits in grain/feed/food facilities.

The successful candidate will support millwrights, read schematics, and operate electrical test equipment, while maintaining high quality standards and safety practices on site.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Apprenticeship program; Journeyman status is an asset.
• Able to read electrical drawings and schematics; understands wiring and control systems.
• Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and industrial drives is preferred.
• Strong focus on safety and compliance with codes.
• Able to work with voltage from 24V to 575V and three-phase systems.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment in field settings.

Responsibilities

• Complete electrical tasks safely with high quality and efficiency.
• Interpret drawings and lay out work to meet specs and manuals.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and retrofit electrical systems and controls.
• Collaborate with Millwrights & Welders; assist with mechanical maintenance.
• Maintain tools and records; uphold safety policies and site cleanliness.
• Mentor junior workers and contribute to project installations.

INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN

KPIC Maintenance Services Inc. (a member of the FWS Group of Companies) specializing in industrial maintenance services, providing preventative and reactive solutions along with small project retrofits and expansions to our client’s facilities primarily in grain handling, feed mill and food processing.

To support our continued growth, we are recruiting for an Journeyperson Electrician to join our collaborative and team-focused organization, for around the Regina, Saskatchewan area.

As our Industrial Electrician, you will en sure all assigned electrical related tasks are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner with a high level of quality, using safe work practices acceptable to the customers’ satisfaction.

Position Overview:

• Utilizes safe work practices and promote safety policies to others. Must maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Proficient in electrical standards, codes, best practices, safe work policies and practices.
• Responsible for safe and conscientious use of equipment including forklift, skidsteer loader, scissor lifts, power tools along with proficiency in safe methods of hoisting and rigging at all times.
• Position flexibility, work along side and support Millwrights & Welders. Assist with mechanical equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairing and preventative maintenance along with installations, dismantling, assembling as per manufacturer specifications and recommended standards. Perform electrical duties as required.
• Proficient in material take offs, interpreting construction drawings, including providing accurate layout of the work and building to drawings and specifications. In addition, O+M Manuals to ensure correct maintenance and service has been provided.
• Accurately and effectively uses various types of electrical test equipment.
• Supervises laborer’s and resources as required for a specific task.
• Mentors and trains junior workers to develop trade related skills.
• Ability to complete required daily paperwork with legible penmanship and to KPIC standard.
• Responsible for all company tools ensuring they are accounted for at the end of each day. Maintaining a clean tool trailer each and every day.

Qualifications Needed:

• Enrolled in Apprenticeship program. Journeyman status is an asset, interested in becoming dual ticketed in Millwrighting is an asset.
• Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all business interactions and strives to meet customer needs in a creative and safe manner.
• Highly motivated, positive attitude, pleasant demeanor with an ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks while working within a team environment and cross-functional departments as well as independently.
• Demonstrated electrical aptitude, understands principles, including Trouble-shooting/repairs/installations of processing equipment with a working knowledge of electrical to allow efficient repair/replacement results.
• Mechanical experience is an asset.
• Program and troubleshoot variable frequency drive (VFDs)
• Read and understand electrical power and control system wiring and schematics
• Must be able to read logic and flow diagrams
• PLC and automation knowledge considered an asset
• Repair/maintain/trouble shoot motor controls, hazard monitoring systems
• Must have experience working with voltage ranging from 24V to 575V, 3 phase
• Mechanical ability, knowledge, and experience such as troubleshooting skills, ability to assemble and commission mechanical systems in addition to understanding of multi hp industrial drives, shafts, bearings, and lubrication considered an asset.
• Ability to install, examine, diagnose, and adjust various types of industrial and electrical equipment is an asset.
• Appropriate level of experience in industrial maintenance/service environment. Agricultural Industry experience considered an asset.
• Ability to work in cold & hot weather/environments and green/brown fields sites subject to grain dust.
• Required Safety tickets/training, minimally including a current First Aid Certificate, fall arrest, confined space, WHIMIS, CSTS will be considered an asset and preference will be shown towards candidate holding valid & current training. Proof of training maybe requested.
• Holds no previous safety violation within the FWS Group of Companies.
