Job summary

KPIC Maintenance Services Inc., a member of the FWS Group of Companies, seeks Skilled Labourers to support maintenance work in Yorkton, Melville, Canora and Langenburg, SK. You will perform mechanical tasks with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency, collaborating with Millwrights, Welders and Electricians.

The role offers opportunities for training, potential profit sharing and long‑term growth within the group.

Qualifications

• Candidates must live within 100 km of posted position or be willing to relocate.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge such as troubleshooting, assembling and commissioning mechanical systems.
• Industrial maintenance experience is an asset, especially in agricultural contexts.
• Ability to work in cold and hot environments and dusty grain sites.
• Safety tickets/training (First Aid, fall arrest, WHMIS, CSTS) are assets and preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and practice safety policies; maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Operate equipment including forklift, skid-steer loader, scissor lifts and power tools with safe methods.
• Support Millwrights, Welders & Electricians; assist with inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance; perform installations and disassembly as required.
• Perform welding and cutting tasks using appropriate equipment.
• Learn from senior tradespersons to develop and diversify skills.
• Maintain enthusiasm and complete daily paperwork legibly; manage tools and keep trailer organized.

Job description

KPIC Maintenance Services Inc. (a member of the FWS Group of Companies) specializing in industrial maintenance services, providing preventative and reactive solutions along with small project retrofits and expansions to our client’s facilities primarily in grain handling, feed mill and food processing.

To support our continued growth, we are seeking Skilled Labourers across Yorkton, Melville, Canora, and Langenburg, SK to join our collaborative and team-focused organization.

As our Skilled Labourer, you will en sure all assigned mechanical related tasks are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner with a high level of quality, using safe work practices acceptable to the customers’ satisfaction.

Position Overview:

• Utilizes safe work practices and promote safety policies to others. Must maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Responsible for safe and conscientious use of equipment including forklift, skidsteer loader, scissor lifts, power tools along with proficiency in safe methods of hoisting and rigging at all times.
• Position flexibility, work alongside and support Millwrights, Welders & Electricians. Assist with mechanical equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairing and preventative maintenance along with installations, dismantling, assembling as per manufacturer specifications and recommended standards. Perform duties as required.
• Accurately and effectively uses various types of welding and cutting equipment.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior tradesperson while developing and diversifying skill set.
• Maintain a high level of enthusiasm.
• Ability to complete required daily paperwork with legible penmanship and to KPIC standard.
• Responsible for all company tools ensuring they are accounted for at the end of each day. Maintaining a clean tool trailer each and every day.

Qualifications Needed:

• Candidates must live within a 100 km of posted position or be willing to relocate.
• Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all business interactions and strives to meet customer needs in a creative and safe manner.
• Highly motivated, positive attitude, pleasant demeanor with an ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks while working within a team environment and cross-functional departments as well as independently.
• Mechanical ability and knowledge such as troubleshooting skills, ability to assemble and commission mechanical systems in addition to understanding of multi hp industrial drives, shafts, bearings, and lubrication considered an asset.
• Ability to install, examine, diagnose, and adjust various types of industrial and mechanical equipment is an asset.
• Basic knowledge and/or experience in industrial maintenance/service environment. Agricultural Industry experience considered an asset.
• Aspirations of becoming a tradesperson is an asset
• Ability to work in cold & hot weather/environments and green/brown fields sites subject to grain dust.
• Required Safety tickets/training, minimally including a current First Aid Certificate, fall arrest, confined space, WHIMIS, CSTS will be considered an asset and preference will be shown towards candidate holding valid & current training. Proof of training maybe requested.
• Holds no previous safety violation within the FWS Group of Companies.
