Job summary

KPIC Maintenance Services Inc., a member of the FWS Group, seeks Skilled Labourers for Yorkton, Melville, Canora and Langenburg, SK. Join a team-focused organization delivering preventative and reactive solutions in grain handling, feed mill and food processing facilities.

You’ll work safely with machinery, assist tradespeople, and participate in installations, inspections and minor retrofits while maintaining tools and paperwork daily.

Qualifications

• Live within 100 km of the posted position or be willing to relocate.
• Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all business interactions.
• Highly motivated, positive attitude, and able to handle multiple tasks.
• Mechanical ability and knowledge; troubleshooting and assembling mechanical systems.
• Experience in industrial maintenance/service is an asset; agricultural experience is an asset.
• Aspiration to become a tradesperson is an asset.
• Ability to work in cold and hot weather and dusty grain site environments.
• Safety tickets/training, at minimum First Aid, fall arrest, WHMIS, CSTS; asset if current.
• No prior safety violations within the FWS Group of Companies.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes safe work practices and promotes safety policies for others.
• Safely uses equipment including forklift, skidsteer, scissor lifts and power tools.
• Assists with inspections, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance; installs/disassembles as per specs.
• Uses welding and cutting equipment as required.
• Willing to learn from senior tradespeople while expanding skill sets.
• Maintains enthusiasm and completes required daily paperwork clearly.
• Ensures all tools are accounted for and keeps trailer clean at day end.

SKILLED LABOURER

KPIC Maintenance Services Inc. (a member of the FWS Group of Companies) specializing in industrial maintenance services, providing preventative and reactive solutions along with small project retrofits and expansions to our client’s facilities primarily in grain handling, feed mill and food processing. To support our continued growth, we are seeking Skilled Labourers across Yorkton, Melville, Canora, and Langenburg, SK to join our collaborative and team-focused organization.

As our Skilled Labourer, you will ensure all assigned mechanical related tasks are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner with a high level of quality, using safe work practices acceptable to the customers’ satisfaction.

Position Overview

• Utilizes safe work practices and promote safety policies to others. Must maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Responsible for safe and conscientious use of equipment including forklift, skidsteer loader, scissor lifts, power tools along with proficiency in safe methods of hoisting and rigging at all times.
• Position flexibility, work alongside and support Millwrights, Welders & Electricians. Assist with mechanical equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairing and preventative maintenance along with installations, dismantling, assembling as per manufacturer specifications and recommended standards. Perform duties as required.
• Accurately and effectively uses various types of welding and cutting equipment.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior tradesperson while developing and diversifying skill set.
• Maintain a high level of enthusiasm.
• Ability to complete required daily paperwork with legible penmanship and to KPIC standard.
• Responsible for all company tools ensuring they are accounted for at the end of each day. Maintaining a clean tool trailer each and every day.

Qualifications Needed

• Candidates must live within a 100 km of posted position or be willing to relocate.
• Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all business interactions and strives to meet customer needs in a creative and safe manner.
• Highly motivated, positive attitude, pleasant demeanor with an ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks while working within a team environment and cross-functional departments as well as independently.
• Mechanical ability and knowledge such as troubleshooting skills, ability to assemble and commission mechanical systems in addition to understanding of multi hp industrial drives, shafts, bearings, and lubrication considered an asset.
• Ability to install, examine, diagnose, and adjust various types of industrial and mechanical equipment is an asset.
• Basic knowledge and/or experience in industrial maintenance/service environment. Agricultural Industry experience considered an asset.
• Aspirations of becoming a tradesperson is an asset
• Ability to work in cold & hot weather/environments and green/brown fields sites subject to grain dust.
• Required Safety tickets/training, minimally including a current First Aid Certificate, fall arrest, confined space, WHIMIS, CSTS will be considered an asset and preference will be shown towards candidate holding valid & current training. Proof of training maybe requested.
• Holds no previous safety violation within the FWS Group of Companies.
• Perform other tasks as assigned
