Job summary

PaperWorks in Canada is looking for a skilled Industrial Electrician to perform maintenance, repair and testing of switchgear, motors, and control systems in an urban industrial setting. You will interpret electrical drawings and codes, conduct preventive maintenance, and mentor apprentices on site.

Required Industrial Electrician Trade Certification and Red Seal, with English proficiency and a valid driver's licence.

Qualifications

• Industrial Electrician Trade Certification and Red Seal are required.
• Experience in electrical maintenance in industrial settings is asset.
• Work language is English and on-site operation is required.

Responsibilities

• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Instruct apprentices.
• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
• Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
• Interpret electrical code specifications.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
