Job summary

Tiercon is seeking an Industrial Electrician to perform and document maintenance on production equipment and facilities, ensuring safe, efficient operation. You will assist in trouble shooting, installing new equipment and maintain compliance with ISO14001:2015 and IATF16949 standards.

You will execute daily electrical diagnostics, design control panels, interpret Canadian Electrical Code, and support continuous improvement while working rotating shifts and extended hours as required.

Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma, Licensed 442A
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of applicable hand tools and applications (PLCs)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial maintenance role
  • Prior experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment, robotics and PLC controlled machinery
  • Knowledge and experience in reading electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics
  • Demonstrated experience with transformers, switch gears, conveyors, pumps, VFD's, fire alarm panels, HVAC, lighting panels, instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting relay logic

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and regulatory policies, and practices ensuring safe, efficient and consistent operation and maintenance of equipment and processes
  • Understand and perform safety responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lockout and emergency response
  • Perform daily checks (continuity, current, voltage and resistance) and diagnostics on equipment
  • Repair, install and test the equipment (Transformers, regulators, motors, generators, electrical control system)
  • Design control panels and install circuit power distribution
  • Interpret the requirements of the Canadian Electrical code and ensure compliance
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures, to minimize downtime and maintenance costs, and manage equipment efficiencies
  • Perform downtime repair work; troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, identify opportunities for optimization
  • Program, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial equipment and automation including PLCs, HMI, frequency drives and other related devices
  • Ensure that all work completed meets regulatory guidelines, manufacturers' specifications and internal maintenance procedures
  • Maintain proper documentation including logs, maintenance records, safety and environment reports
  • Plan, design, purchase, install and test of new branch control circuits as well as maintenance to existing systems and equipment.
  • Able to work rotating shifts
  • Able to support extended hours as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Summary & Reporting Structure

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for performing and documenting all necessary maintenance and repairs for all production equipment and facilities, ensuring that plant and processing equipment is in safe and good working order. In addition, they will assist in the resolution of equipment problems and the installation of new equipment. They will be responsible for adhering to the policies and procedures outlined in the ISO14001:2015 and IATF16949 Quality System and practicing continuous improvement wherever possible.
