Job Description

Position: Technician

Location: Fort McMurray, AB, T9H 0G3

In this role you will get to:

  1. Comply with all safety policies and guidelines, including those established by the customer. Report unsafe practices.
  2. Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead cranes and hoists at various customer sites. Be available for on-call and after-hours service as needed.
  3. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic issues to determine causes and perform repairs, ensuring safety features are functional and documenting deficiencies.
  4. Document findings and communicate safety concerns and repair recommendations to customers, including safety notifications and quotations.
  5. Discuss repair and safety issues with customers, providing recommendations to improve safety and productivity, and determine actions for quotations.
  6. Complete electronic documentation accurately and promptly, obtaining customer signatures.
  7. Understand and apply relevant codes and regulations (CSA, OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI, etc.). Refresh knowledge periodically.
  8. Complete work packages and related documents professionally and submit them on time.
  9. Maintain communication with the service office and coordinators.
  10. Maintain company equipment, vehicles, and tools in safe working order. Operate tools responsibly and report deficiencies.
  11. Keep supplies and materials organized in the service vehicle and document usage or sales.
  12. Follow safety rules and participate in safety meetings.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification as a Journeyman Electrician, Millwright, or equivalent, or an Associate’s degree in Industrial Electrical/Mechanical Technology with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience or as required by provincial standards and CSA regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and walkways.
  • Good computer, communication, and customer interaction skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel as needed.
