SUMMARY

This is an on-site stationary position located in Edmonton near 156 St NW & 118 Ave NW.

The position is full-time days, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with possible rotational emergency on-call duties.

The Journeyperson Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance and provides routine and on-demand services on mechanical and electrical equipment and systems of the assigned facility.

The technician must hold one or more of the following certifications:

  • HVAC Journeyperson
  • Electrician Journeyperson
  • Millwright Journeyperson
  • 3rd Class Power Engineer
  • Plumber Journeyperson (Gas ticket considered a strong asset)

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Subject to legislative licensing requirements and company policies:

  1. Perform regular monitoring, inspection, preventative, and corrective maintenance on facility mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure operational uptime, client service, and asset integrity.
  2. Observe and report on facility conditions, deficiencies, and suggest improvements.
  3. Conduct facility walkthroughs and monitor mechanical and electrical systems.
  4. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment.
  5. Respond to service requests and perform maintenance as needed.
  6. Record and track work in the maintenance management database, ensuring quality and compliance.
  7. Assist in implementing preventative maintenance programs and document deficiencies and repairs.
  8. Participate in facility-related projects.
  9. Ensure all work complies with environmental, health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  10. Maintain tools and submit expenditure reports timely.
  11. Enhance tenant and customer satisfaction through professional service delivery.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Requirements

  • Willingness to wear PPE.
  • Perform work according to established processes and safety practices.
  • Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and fire regulations.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Over 3 years of facility operations and maintenance experience.
  • High school diploma plus trades training, certification, or licensing.
  • Ability to adhere to and execute maintenance processes effectively.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of fire, safety, and building codes.
  • Strong safety mindset and client-service orientation.
  • Effective communication skills.
