Job summary

Sportchek in Brampton, ON is seeking an Industrial Electrician to join the AJ Billes Distribution Centre maintenance team. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and equipment upgrades to ensure reliability and uptime.

Scheduling from 7:00pm to 7:00am with a $4 shift premium, you will troubleshoot electrical systems and PLCs, update CMMS records, and work with the maintenance crew to meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Current Ontario Certificate of Qualification -> Industrial Electrician #442A or #309A; relevant industrial experience.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical/controls problems and root cause analysis.
• Experience troubleshooting Rockwell PLC systems (Control Logic & SLC).
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic equipment and testing procedures.
• Experience with DC Controllers and AC drives installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Experience with CMMS (Maximo).
• Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet; able to stand long periods with lifting.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and preventative maintenance on all equipment within the DC.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly based on priority.
• Maintain accurate parts and work order records in the CMMS.
• Perform repairs with minimal supervision and see jobs to completion.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics, PLCs, and manufacturer specs.
• Provide updates to coordinator and hand-off information for shifts.

## Industrial ElectricianApply: Brampton, ON: Full time: Posted Today: End Date: November 6, 2026 (30+ days left to apply): JR152324**What you'll do:**The Industrial Electrician is responsible for achieving department and customer operation goals; ensuring ongoing equipment (system) reliability and uptime through preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, troubleshooting, analysis and equipment upgrades.**This role is for our AJ Billes Distribution Centre's maintenance team (scheduling from 7:00pm-7:00am. Eligible for a $4.00 shift premium)*** Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; working in a safe and effective manner* Perform service and preventative maintenance on all equipment within the DC* Respond to all equipment breakdowns in a timely manner based on priority systems* Maintain accurate parts and work order records (logged hours, Stores parts used, and detailed comments on failure cause/solution(s) or other relevant technical details) on computerized maintenance system (MAXIMO is an asset)* Perform repairs with minimal supervision, take responsibility and make decisions to see the job to completion within time demands* Troubleshoot electrical systems through the use of electrical schematics, personal computers, panel layouts or manufacturer's specifications to effect repair* Provide information on equipment/system problems to coordinator and provide updates as required* Provide required shift change hand-off information on equipment repairs or work orders to shift coordinator and incoming trades* Make recommendations to improve equipment operation/efficiency, reduce maintenance costs and improve maintenance service to customers* Demonstrate flexibility when tasks are reassigned or altered* Follow maintenance quality and standard operating procedures as established**What you bring:*** **Current Ontario Certificate of Qualification -> Industrial Electrician #442A or #309A Construction Electrician with relevant industrial experience.**### Applicants must attach copy of their Certificate of Qualification with original issue date (#442A or #309A) to their application. If you have received a Certificate of Apprenticeship, please add this as well.* Experience effectively troubleshooting equipment electrical/controls problems and investigating the root cause of such problems* Experience in troubleshooting Rockwell programmable controller (PLC) systems (Control Logic & SLC)* Knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment as well as various testing procedures to diagnose and repair/setup of such equipment* Experience in the installation, trouble shooting and repair of DC Controllers and AC drives* Photo Electrics* Experience in working with computerized maintenance management software (CMMS)* Assist industrial mechanics or powered lift truck technicians when required* Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet* Ability to stand for long periods with occasional laying down, stooping and crouching, plus frequent heavy liftingConsidered an asset:* Experience working on conveyors, sortation equipment, towlines, cranes & automated guided vehicles (AGV)* Detailed programming of PLCs and PLC systems* Siemens Simatic PLC troubleshooting experience* Experience with Maximo* Demonstrated ability to plan/execute own work effectively and efficiently* Demonstrated ability to work effectively either alone or with other electricians* Previous mechanical repair & troubleshooting* Technical training via apprenticeshipWe’re always looking for great talent!
