Job summary

Preston Phipps Inc. in Ottawa seeks a Service Technician to join the team. The ideal candidate will work on control system installations, calibrations, and programming, supporting customers in an entrepreneurial, service-driven environment.

Requirements include a college diploma or engineering degree, 3–5 years' experience, PLC knowledge, and advanced proficiency in French with intermediate English. A valid driver's license and vehicle access are needed, with workplace safety compliance

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PLCs and control systems is required.
• Fluency in French is required; English proficiency is intermediate.
• Experience with building automation, HVAC, BACnet, and computer networks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test and verify quality of control system installations.
• Calibrate and maintain sensing and actuating devices.
• Complete programming of digital control systems.
• Start-ups and documentation of systems and equipment.
• Perform laboratory validation.
• Diagnose equipment issues and determine corrective actions.
• Install and terminate control devices (controllers, sensors, actuators, relays).
• Provide training to customers.
