Job summary

Executrade is seeking a Mechanical Design Technologist to join a growing Alberta operation in Calgary. You will design, draft, and document industrial equipment from concept through fabrication and installation, collaborating with engineers, vendors, and fabrication shops.

The role emphasizes producing accurate drawings, BOMs, and technical records, with a focus on attention to detail, teamwork, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, or heavy industry is an asset.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; BOMs and documentation handling.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain drawings and technical documentation for design, fabrication, procurement, and installation of industrial equipment.
• Create and maintain 2D and 3D engineering drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Develop fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings for industrial equipment and facility projects.
• Revise drawings to reflect design changes, field feedback, and engineering direction.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting technical documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, vendors, and fabrication shops to ensure accurate drawings.
