Job summary

Teknion Custom Solutions in Calgary is seeking a junior CAD Draftsperson to assist in producing accurate production drawings for executive office furniture components. You’ll support manufacturing processes under supervision while developing your technical skillset.

Responsibilities include drafting, updating CAD models, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and ISO requirements while collaborating with the CAD/CAM team.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Design, or a related drafting discipline.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in 2D/3D AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• 2+ years of practical drafting and detailing experience.
• SolidWorks certification (CSWA or CSWP) or AutoCAD certification preferred.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM systems and proficiency in Google Sheets, Docs, etc.
• Basic understanding of standard manufacturing processes, technical drawings, and BOMs.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative team attitude.

Responsibilities

• Create production drawings, product symbols and engineering models as directed by the CAD/CAM Manager.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to internal standards, ISO requirements, and quality process guidelines.
• Draft design concepts, presentation drawings, and work order packages for manufacturing with the CAD/CAM team.
• Assist in maintaining and managing product models in 2020 Construct 15 (Imos), Insight, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
• Support product line updates, enhancements, testing, and customization tasks.
• Liaise with manufacturing teams and suppliers to verify drawings reflect production capabilities.
• Assist in updating the CAD database by archiving outdated drawings and processing ECOs.
