Job summary

HDR is seeking an Industrial Architecture Section Team Lead to drive production operations, mentor staff and coordinate with national studios. You will lead a multidisciplinary team delivering mission-critical facilities and data centers, ensuring projects are planned and managed to high standards while aligning with HDR’s employee-owned culture.

The role requires a Master’s in Architecture, 7+ years of experience, and professional licensure.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture required or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in similar project types.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Professional registration/licensure may be required based on role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee production section operations, staff development, morale, and marketing support.
  • Administer team staffing, utilization, and balance workloads across area and national studios.
  • Lead and coordinate with local teams, national studios, and engineering groups.
  • Ensure all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated via proactive project management.
  • Implement, monitor and support company policies.
  • Select, train and develop team staff.
  • Manage and grow multidiscipline teams.
  • Collaborate with Managing Principal, Project Managers and studio leaders on staffing.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Industrial Architecture Section Team Lead, we'll count on you to:

  • Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, morale, and marketing support
  • Take administrative responsibility for team staff, including managing team utilization and balancing project workloads both within the area and in coordination with national industrial architecture studios.
  • Lead and coordinate services with other local teams, national industrial architecture studios, and engineering business groups
  • See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system
  • Implement, monitor and support company policy
  • Select, train, develop and manage team staff
  • Manage and develop multidiscipline teams
  • Work cooperatively with Managing Principal, Project Managers, and other studio/team leaders on project staffing
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in similar project types, such as mission critical facilities, data centers, advanced manufacturing, water treatment, maintenance facilities, or similar.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff
  • Maintains a professional architecture license and is willing to stamp drawings
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 7 years experience
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
