Job summary

HDR is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Ontario. The role focuses on coordinating multidisciplinary teams across the project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables are aligned with budget and schedule, and collaborating with accounting and leadership for regular reviews.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field and have at least 5 years of experience, plus strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Take initiative, anticipate needs, escalate issues when needed, and propose next steps.

In the role of Assistant Project Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out), while under supervision of a Project Manager
  • Responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger projecto
  • Coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule
  • Work with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Demonstrate strong ability to work under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and pivot quickly between changing priorities.
  • Take initiative without prompting, anticipating needs, escalating issues when appropriate, and make decisions with evolving information.
  • Approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset, bringing forward next steps, options, and recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 5 years related experience
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
