Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking an Indigenous Welder Apprentice to join the Indigenous Apprenticeship Program at the Mill Site near Athabasca, Alberta. You will learn maintenance welding, fabrication, and reading drawings in a safety-focused environment with potential long-term career growth.

The program covers training costs; proof of Indigenous status is required. This is a four-year, non-permanent position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Proof of Indigenous status required for program eligibility.
• High school diploma or GED and enrollment in welder trade program.
• Complete required entrance exams and aptitude testing.
• Pre-employment drug, alcohol testing and medical.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform maintenance welding and fabrication tasks.
• Follow safety and PPE requirements.
• Read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Support piping repairs with the maintenance team.
• Assist in positioning parts with jigs and fixtures.
