Job summary

The Government of Yukon, Health & Social Services - Branch Management, Whitehorse, Yukon, is seeking an Administrative Research Assistant (68857). This permanent full-time role works 75 hours bi-weekly in Whitehorse, Yukon, with a 12-month eligibility list.

We are seeking candidates with experience providing senior-level executive support, coordinating executive casework, and managing confidential information. Admissibility preferences apply for Indigenous Yukon ancestry.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience providing senior-level executive administrative support to senior leaders in a health, social services, government, or similarly complex environment.
  • Experience coordinating and managing executive casework, correspondence, and responses to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Experience coordinating multiple competing priorities, managing changing deadlines, and exercising sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Recent experience working with highly sensitive and confidential information requiring discretion, and adherence to privacy and confidentiality requirements.
  • Recent experience leading or coordinating administrative functions, including developing or implementing administrative procedures and providing training, guidance, or mentorship to administrative staff.

  • Coordinate executive casework and respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Lead or coordinate administrative functions, developing procedures and mentoring staff.

  • Attention to detail in an environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to conducts research on urgent and emerging issues and provides written and verbal reports and recommendations to the Director.
  • RCMP Clearance with Vulnerable sector check,
  • Class 5 Drivers Licence or it equivalent.

  • Lift up to 22 lbs
  • Possible travel within Yukon
  • Exposure to emotional, physically abusive and/or dissatisfied clients
  • Ability to obtain Government Notary appointment within 12 months
