Job summary

Nova Scotia Health is seeking an Indigenous Nurse Practitioner for a designated service in Millbrook, NS. The NP will diagnose, order tests, prescribe medications, and deliver comprehensive clinical care in collaboration with the health care team to support Indigenous patients and families.

The role requires Masters of Nursing – Advanced Nursing Practice, NP registration, NSNMR status, and strong leadership across interprofessional teams in a culturally safe setting.

Qualifications

• Masters of Nursing – Advanced Nursing Practice stream.
• Current registration to register as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Registered with the NSNMR with active-practicing status, with a license to practice as an NP in Nova Scotia.
• Successful NP examination.
• CNA Certification in a relevant field would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive clinical care as Indigenous Nurse Practitioner in designated service areas.
• Works autonomously to diagnose, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and perform procedures.
• Collaborates with the health care team for person- and family-centered care.
