Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Post-secondary diploma in Early Childhood Development, Education, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience.
• Knowledge of maternal/infant health, parenting education, and early childhood development.
• Experience with home visits and managing family caseloads.
• Cultural awareness of First Nations communities in Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain supportive relationships with parents and primary caregivers using program tools.
• Conduct weekly home visits with pregnant mothers and families with infants up to three years old.
• Provide guidance on positive parenting and daily living activities.
• Engage parents to participate in group activities and set goals.
• Coordinate home visits and ensure culturally appropriate practices.
