Job summary

Masala Bay Ltd. O/A Garlic and Greens is seeking an Indian Ethnic Chef for night shifts in Edmonton, AB. The role offers permanent full-time employment at $39.00 per hour, with 30–40 hours per week and a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.

Experience in South Indian, Gujarati, Punjabi, and North/South Indian cuisines is preferred. The successful candidate will supervise kitchen staff, train cooks, create menus, and ensure quality and presentation for events and daily service.

Qualifications

• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in cooking or relevant field.
• Leadership and dependability in kitchen operations.
• English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to kitchen staff.
• Supervise activities of chefs, cooks and other kitchen staff.
• Plan menus and ensure food quality and presentation.
• Prepare and cook complete meals for events such as banquets.
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
• Lead and instruct individuals in kitchen tasks.
