Davies is looking for a Risk Control Consultant to work on an independent contractor basis.

Property and Casualty Insurance-based inspection work is the foundation; however, most projects are consultative, leading to a better understanding of risk and a focus on reducing exposures, resulting in fewer accidents, injuries, losses, and claims. Davies North America is one of the largest providers of Insurance Inspections, Risk Control Consulting, and Loss Control.

Due to the rapid expansion of our services and products, the Risk Consulting Division has immediate and ongoing needs for experienced independent contractor specialists in Fire Protection, Loss Prevention, Risk Control & Mitigation. The industries served include:

Qualifications include:

• Progressive career advancement and technical skills through continuing education, and/or a degree in Fire Protection, B.Sc., or M.Sc.
• and/or equivalent are required.

Professional designations such as EIT, P.Eng., CRM, CRSP, CIT, CIP are highly desirable but not mandatory.

Viable candidates should have strong working knowledge and proven success in applying skills in two or more of the following areas:

Additional helpful criteria:

• Ability to travel throughout Ontario
• Certified instructor/trainer and presentation skills (desirable)
• Completion of insurance institute courses

This position requires:

• Bi-lingual in English & French (highly preferred)
• A consultative and client service approach
• Self-management, personal drive, and pride in your work
• Ability to write clear, concise, yet comprehensive reports
• Computer skills including typical office software
• Ability to operate a vehicle and visit client sites
• Some overnight travel when needed
