Job summary

Niagara Region Mental Health is seeking an independent Behaviour Analyst to deliver Applied Behaviour Analysis services on a non-employment, contractor basis across Niagara Region, including home, community settings and offices.

The role involves conducting behavioural assessments, developing and implementing behaviour support plans, and providing written recommendations and consultations for clients with complex needs and co-occurring disorders. Travel within the region may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Behavioural Science, Applied Behaviour Analysis, or a related field.
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
  • Authorization to practise as a Behaviour Analyst in Ontario, where applicable.
  • Experience conducting behavioural assessments and developing behaviour support plans.
  • Knowledge and experience using Applied Behaviour Analysis principles.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including severe mental illness, homelessness, addictions, substance use, and/or co‑occurring disorders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide services in community, client home, supportive housing, office, and/or remote settings, as appropriate.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to transportation for travel within Niagara Region, where required.
  • Professional liability insurance and any other contractor documentation required by Niagara Region.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct behavioural assessments, including observation, behavioural data review, functional behaviour assessment, preference assessment, and interpretation of findings.
  • Develop individualized behaviour support plans based on assessment findings and accepted Applied Behaviour Analysis principles.
  • Provide behavioural consultation related to specific client referrals, assessment findings, and implementation of behaviour support plans.
  • Provide written recommendations to support behavioural goals, skill development, risk mitigation, environmental strategies, and service planning.
  • Time-limited review or update of behaviour support plans, where clinically appropriate.
  • Documentation and service summaries related to completed assessments, plans, consultations, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
