Job summary

Northern Lights Academy seeks a Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities across academic, social, and emotional development. You will develop IEPs, differentiate instruction, and collaborate with staff to ensure inclusive practices and effective interventions.

Responsibilities include direct instruction, progress monitoring, and coordinating related services while maintaining strong communication with families.

Qualifications

• Must hold MN State Certification as a Teacher.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs with families and staff.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication with parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs with families and staff.
• Differentiate instruction using varied strategies and assistive technologies.
• Provide direct instruction in core subjects and teach study skills.
• Deliver one-on-one and small group instruction.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies.
• Collaborate with general education teachers for inclusion.
• Monitor progress and communicate results to parents.
• Coordinate related services (speech, OT, counseling) per IEP.
• Engage with parents to support learning at home.
