Job summary

Rocky View Schools (RVS) invites applications for a continuing, full-time Learning Assistant at Langdon School. The role focuses on supporting diverse learners in classrooms and community settings, implementing individualized plans, and assisting with health, learning and independence.

Reporting to the Principal, the Learning Assistant collaborates with teachers, adapts programs for students with complex needs, and contributes to a safe, inclusive learning environment. Immediate start.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant Certificate or related field.
• Training in prevention/de-escalation behaviour or willingness to become certified.
• Minimum one year experience with students with challenging behaviour.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to become certified.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist students per individualized plans, including those needing supports such as personal care, transfers and safety.
• Implement strategies as directed by teachers and student plans.
• Record observations and data to guide positive behavior strategies.
• Participate in planning meetings and prepare individualized program materials.
• Promote student learning, belonging and independence.
• Assist with emotional and behavioural regulation as needed.
• Support routine personal care and daily living activities.
