Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant for Provost Public School in Provost, Alberta. The position supports students with a range of needs in an inclusive learning environment.

Start date is November 2, 2026, with a temporary contract and 6 hours per day, Monday to Friday, following the school calendar. The role involves personal care, collaboration with the team, and health and safety responsibilities.

Qualifikationen

• Diploma in Childhood or Educational Assistant programs (preferred).
• Experience with individuals with special needs.
• Ability to support individuals with language delays, behavioral challenges, and emotional dysregulation.
• Ability to assist with personal hygiene and other care needs.
• Training in SIVA or other non-violent crisis intervention strategies is an asset.

Aufgaben

• Deliver educational instruction tailored to the needs of identified students and prepare materials.
• Assist in student data collection, monitor progress, and provide observations to the classroom or Inclusive Learning Teacher.
• Modify classroom and curriculum materials to meet individual or group needs.
• Support students in developing academic, social, behavioral, and life skills.
• Assist with integration and transitions within the school system or into work/community environments.
• Help students with assistive devices or approved service animals as required.
• Attend to students' personal needs, including feeding, hygiene, and toileting.
• Collaborate with the team and participate in professional learning and training.
• Supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times.
• Advocate for students and share information with staff.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and administer medications per procedures.
