Reporting to the Inbound Manager, the Inbound Team Lead provides daily direction and support to the Receiving team, ensuring inbound products are received, processed, and stored accurately, safely, and efficiently. This role coordinates workflow, resolves operational issues, and supports inventory accuracy, productivity, and service objectives.
The position also provides coaching, training, and workload coordination, fostering a safe and productive work environment while ensuring adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures.
What you will do:
- Provide day-to-day direction, guidance, and support to the Receiving team to ensure operational priorities are achieved.
- Coordinate and oversee inbound receiving activities, including unloading, verification, staging, and put-away of products.
- Assign and prioritize workload based on inbound volumes, staffing, and operational requirements.
- Monitor receiving performance to ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and safely.
- Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies, damages, and inventory issues in partnership with Inventory Control and leadership.
- Support inventory accuracy through timely and accurate receiving transactions and product movement.
- Train, coach, and support team members, including onboarding new employees.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
- Communicate operational priorities and escalate issues related to inventory, staffing, equipment, or safety as needed.
- Support inventory counts, audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Lead by example and perform other duties as assigned.
About you:
- 3+ years of warehouse, distribution, receiving, or logistics experience, preferably in a wholesale distribution environment.
- Experience leading, coaching, and training warehouse employees.
- Strong knowledge of receiving operations, inventory control, and product flow.
- Experience with WMS, RF scanners, and inventory systems; forklift certification is an asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to safety.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Experience in Plumbing, HVAC, Hydronics, Waterworks, Electrical, or related distribution industries is an asset.
