Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Implementation Specialist (Fluxx) based in Canada.

This is a client-facing technology consulting role focused on implementing and optimizing cloud-based grant management solutions. You’ll translate complex business processes and user needs into practical system configurations, integrations, and data solutions. Working across multiple client projects, you’ll collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to deliver thoughtful, reliable technical implementations. You’ll configure workflows, forms, portals, dashboards, reports, communications, and integrations while keeping the end-user experience at the center. The role also offers opportunities to introduce practical AI use cases into grantmaking workflows and help organizations adopt emerging technologies responsibly. You’ll balance hands-on technical work with discovery sessions, troubleshooting, training, documentation, and ongoing client support. This is an ideal opportunity for a curious, independent problem-solver who enjoys turning technology into meaningful outcomes for mission-driven organizations.

Accountabilities
  • Implement cloud solutions: Configure, deploy, enhance, and support grant management and related cloud applications, beginning with Fluxx, while ensuring solutions are intuitive and aligned with client requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technology: Lead or support discovery sessions, map client processes, identify requirements, and translate operational needs into cohesive technical designs and system configurations.
  • Configure core functionality: Build forms, workflows, dashboards, reports, online portals, automated communications, and other application components that streamline grantmaking processes.
  • Test and validate solutions: Test complex builds against documented requirements, user scenarios, data conditions, and client processes; create user stories and testing checklists to support client review and validation.
  • Develop integrations: Build and maintain API-based integrations using middleware such as Workato and Power Automate to ensure information moves seamlessly across platforms and workflows.
  • Manage data: Perform data audits and analysis, field mapping, transformations, cleansing, migration, loading, deduplication, visualization, and data validation activities as required.
  • Support clients: Triage support requests, assess priority and severity, investigate root causes, identify appropriate solutions, and provide ongoing enhancements and technical guidance.
  • Advise on AI opportunities: Help clients identify practical applications of AI in grantmaking, including application triage, eligibility screening, report summarization, and data extraction, and support the implementation of appropriate tools.
  • Monitor product evolution: Track application releases and new functionality, assess their relevance with clients, and recommend which features should be tested, deployed, and supported.
  • Enable technology adoption: Create client-specific training and documentation, including presentations, on-site sessions, video tutorials, and technology best-practice materials.
  • Monitor adoption and improve systems: Evaluate how clients use implemented solutions and recommend enhancements that improve usability, effectiveness, and long-term adoption.
  • Collaborate across projects: Work closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams of approximately two to four people across a portfolio of client engagements, managing competing priorities and delivering against deadlines.
  • Contribute to team success: Work collaboratively, share knowledge, take ownership of outcomes, and maintain accurate time tracking in a consulting environment where billable work supports business operations.
Requirements
  • Implementation experience: 2–3 years of experience configuring, implementing, and supporting cloud solutions, ideally within grantmaking, philanthropy, or nonprofit environments.
  • Business-to-technical translation: Demonstrated ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical designs, configurations, workflows, and system solutions.
  • Data experience: 2–3 years of professional experience working with organizational data, including data analysis, migration, cleansing, validation, deduplication, or visualization.
  • Cloud technology proficiency: Strong proficiency with cloud productivity and business platforms such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Box, Dropbox, or Asana.
  • Grant management systems: Strong interest in developing expertise with platforms such as Fluxx, GivingData, SurveyMonkey Apply, Salesforce, and SmartSimple.
  • Integration knowledge: Familiarity with APIs and relational databases; experience with middleware or integration platforms is an asset.
  • Data visualization: Experience configuring or managing data visualization tools such as Qlik or Tableau is advantageous.
  • Web technology: Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Liquid, or similar front-end technologies is a bonus.
  • AI fluency: Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day work, with a basic understanding of how AI agents can connect with external systems and data, including concepts such as Model Context Protocol (MCP). Experience identifying practical AI use cases is an asset.

  • Organization: Comfortable managing a continual intake of requests, organizing work across multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines, and proactively communicating progress.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly in plain English.
  • Client orientation: Strong interpersonal, presentation, report-writing, and customer service skills, with confidence working directly with clients.
