Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer II (Full Stack), Analytics & Automation based in Canada.

This is a senior engineering opportunity for someone ready to lead complex, high-impact software initiatives from concept through delivery. You’ll build end-to-end product features while contributing to scalable architecture and technical direction. The role spans backend services, APIs, modern frontend applications, infrastructure, and cloud technologies. You’ll work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers in a collaborative Agile environment. Beyond your own delivery, you’ll mentor fellow engineers and help raise engineering quality across the team. The environment values customer-focused thinking, technical ownership, continuous learning, and pragmatic problem-solving. It’s an opportunity to influence both the technology and the people building a rapidly evolving SaaS platform.

Accountabilities
  • Build and ship end-to-end product features, taking ownership from initial concept and design through implementation, testing, and delivery.
  • Lead application architecture decisions and contribute to the design of scalable, maintainable solutions for complex technical and product challenges.
  • Develop backend APIs and services using technologies such as Python, Django, Node.js, REST, and JSON.
  • Build and enhance single-page applications using modern frontend technologies including React, Vue, Ember, and TypeScript.
  • Write clear, well-defined technical and design documentation that enables effective collaboration and consistent execution across developers.
  • Produce well-designed, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code while participating in an Agile software development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues, independently investigating technical problems and identifying durable solutions.
  • Guide high-quality delivery across multiple developers and mentor fellow engineers through technical guidance, feedback, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams to ensure technical decisions reflect customer needs and product goals.
  • Contribute to open-source initiatives and continuously explore ways to improve engineering practices, architecture, and development processes.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of professional experience developing web-based applications, with substantial experience delivering production software.
  • Demonstrated experience guiding high-quality technical work through delivery across multiple developers.
  • Strong experience with a web framework such as Django or Rails.
  • Experience with a modern frontend framework such as React, Vue, Ember, or Angular.
  • Hands‑on experience designing and implementing REST/JSON APIs, including familiarity with Swagger or OpenAPI specifications.
  • Strong understanding of software testing and experience writing maintainable, reliable automated tests.
  • Ability to independently break down complex technical problems, evaluate solutions, and drive implementation.
  • Professional experience with technologies such as Python, Django, TypeScript, Node.js, React, Ember, PostgreSQL, Docker, Terraform, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is an asset.
  • Experience with Node.js, ES6, or TypeScript and modern frontend development is highly valued.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and with SaaS web applications is preferred.
  • Docker and Kubernetes experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor others, influence technical decisions, and work effectively across functions.
  • A customer-focused, growth‑oriented mindset with a strong motivation to learn continuously and improve both technical and product outcomes.
Benefits
  • CA$164,000–CA$225,500 annual compensation range, with offers including a 15% annual target bonus.
  • Competitive compensation based on role scope, relevant skills, experience, certifications, and geographic location.
  • Monthly $200 USD Live Your Best Life (LYBL) allowance for eligible expenses that enhance your wellbeing and lifestyle.
  • Comprehensive employee health and life insurance coverage.
  • Statutory vacation plus flexible vacation options.
  • Paid time off for your birthday and volunteering.
  • Employee resource groups supporting community and inclusion.
  • Opportunities for team and company-wide gatherings.
  • Fully remote work arrangement within Canada.
